Original artwork description:

This Charcoal and Pastel on Paper portrait of a Gorilla was drawn from a photo I found in the Taipei City Zoo magazine. I have always enjoyed doing portraits of people and animals and the challenge of drawing this majestic creature was a lot of fun. I like Gorillas a lot as they are incredibly strong and yet live a relatively quiet and gentle existence most of the time. They are big and unbelievably strong creatures that have a majestic calm which commands respect. I feel they also look very thoughtful and intelligent. This piece was created by building up layers of different coloured pastel to show the shape and contours of the body and fur. It was a slow and enjoyable process to try to accurately recreate this beautiful creature.
A note to International Buyers:
Shipping rates have increased in price all around the world due to Covid and other complications. Due to this I have had to increase the the cost of shipping my artworks in line with the Delivery Companies. I will always strive to find the cheapest possible option for the customer (usually my local POST OFFICE EMS Recorded Delivery, but unfortunately they don’t deliver worldwide at the moment) If the amount of shipping charged at purchase is less than the shipping company charges then I will refund the difference to the customer. This refund will be done after the picture has arrived safely and has been accepted.
Any import duties, taxes and charges that may be payable are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges, if applicable, will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please message me to check if this might affect your purchase.
