Gone To The Birds was painted with bold expressive mark making with acrylic paint. I am able to create texture and unique marks from using non traditional tools like a section of burlap bag to create the foreground and other painterly tools like silicone scrapers.

I love to watch the flocks of distant birds flying in unison over our vast field in the front yard which leads to the ocean. I have created many paintings the last while which include distant flocks. There is something soothing about them in a painting, a touch of nature.
