I turned to look around to face the sunlight on my way home from Hebden Bridge, walking along the canal bank.....and this is the scene I saw. The late summer sun was setting over the Calder and Hebble canal - West Yorkshire, near to Hebden Bridge.
It speaks of the summer sunlight and the trees and plants shimmering in warm air. This is a vibrant, warm painting and at the same time full of optimism and wonder. It has an ethereal quality too, as the dandelion down and mayflies were being lifted over the water surface on the warm air currents .... I hope that you love it too!
