This painting of Marilyn Monroe is built up with several layers of acrylic on a box canvas. Firstly blocks of colour and then multiple patterns on top.
There is a lot of gold in the background so depending on where the light is coming from the painting changes the way it looks.
It is Inspired by the Pop Art movement in general, Klimt's use of gold and patterns, and the bright colours, patterns and squiggles of Ken Done and Keith Haring.
