The setting sun illuminates the peaks of sand ripples and makes the rock radiate as if made of gold. Initially I saw it as being reminiscent of a Tiger's camouflage.
Kimmeridge on the Jurassic Coast of Dorset which is a World Heritage site is somewhere rich for image making. In countless visits over many years, I've not seen a similar sight to this. Whilst the vista with the setting sun was amazing, I chose to concentrate on simplifying this small area of beach to produce a composition I was happy with.
The image was made on an Ebony SU45 view camera using 5x4 inch Fuji Velvia sheet film.
