Original artwork description:

Hand-painted on a deep-edge 50 x 50cm canvas, this painting was created and chosen from one of my smaller paper studies to transfer on a larger canvas. Inspired by a warm, hopeful Summer sunset, I focused painting with warmer tones such as browns, reds, oranges and yellows to create a high-contrast warm sunset. I used a muted scaled palette on the beginning stages of this painting, using a high-chromatic palette during the later stages to highlight the bright bold colours contrasting with the dark areas of the sky and the sea. Canvas sides have been painted to match.
