Raising her hands above her head to receive the golden bounty from Heaven via the tree, this woman is a conduit for its journey down to the Earth.
Dancer, goddess, exotic beauty ...
she is relaxed, meditative and beautiful with lots of coloured jewels, and I was surely inspired by some of the carvings and sculptures that I am lucky to have collected over the years (see photo).
I've shown the painting on my mantlepiece to give an idea of its size in a room setting.

Painted in shiny gold gouache on grey/blue Indian handmade paper.
This 11 x 17" acid-free cotton paper has a pleasing deckle edge.
Simply looking at a blank sheet of it makes me want to paint!
