Painted on-site at the MN Landscape Arboretum in Chaska, MN. Features an iris flower, with a second flower below and to the right, and an unopened bud to the left. This variety features top petals of yellow-gold and bottom petals in deep red with bright fuchsia-red centers and orange-yellow beards. The rich green and blue-green background is created with water-based casein paint, and glazed over with oil. The petals include iridescent oil paint and a dusting metallic mica powder to emulate their natural shimmer. The flowers are painted with both brush and palette knife, and are enhanced by the texture of the paint. This warm and charming painting will brighten any living or workspace. It would make a fantastic, one-of-a-kind gift for a special occasion such as a wedding, anniversary, or birthday.
