Go Lightly is one of a suite of humorous linocut prints exploring the theme of departure.

In this series I use the process of relief printing to place humans and animals in theatrical spaces suggestive of the passage from one place to another.

I enjoy engaging with the history of art by combining modern and traditional references to celebrate the bond between people and animals.

Influential in this 'Go Lightly' piece is a Russian constructivist film poster by the Stenberg brothers; Georgii and Vladimir and Joan Miro's painting 'The Tilled Field'

Combine the two and its open to your own interpretation.

My drawing is transferred onto the linoleum with red carbon paper and I carve into the surface intuitively with sharp lino cutting tools.

A short edition of 10 handmade prints, using the traditional printing method rubbing a baren on the back of the smooth Snowdon 130gsm acid free paper to transfer the printing ink from the linoleum to the paper.

Each print is numbered, titled and signed in pencil, protected with glassine tissue paper and sealed in a cellophane pocket with cardboard support. Carefully packed in a stiff cardboard box, insured, tracked and 1st class Royal Mail delivery within the UK and 2 to 3 working days for Europe, 3 - 5 days Globally, so that it arrives safely and in perfect condition.
