Original artwork description:

Juxtaposition between the animal and human as well the presence of language and its relationship to apprehending meaning from it. The vibrancy of the bird, rich in color and life, contrasts with the ethereal wistful expression of the woman behind it. A complex interplay of male and female gaze contrasted by the detached gaze of the bird. The combination of these elements suspends an open ended scenario of suggestions and sensations rather landing on a concrete conclusion or meaning.

4 canvases framed together.
Exhibited February 2025 in one man show Architecture and Mortality with sevenminusseven Gallery at the Seven Arches Museum in St. Thomas USVI

Materials used:

oil on canvas
