Original artwork description:
This is a painting from my 2024 series of work called Go and Meet the Rain. This series is inspired by a moving line in the ancient Book of Changes - the I Ching. This text deals in elemental realities and this aphorism suggested to me the greening of the desert after rainfall. This directed me to move to that place in myself where my creativity bubbles forth, and in darker, more challenging times I feel a much stronger imperative to do so.
In many of my paintings I work with blues, teals and turquoises contrasted with small flashes of orange and red. This is one such painting.
