A small, almost abstract little portrait painting.
What started out as a background for a painting of a single detail of a face,
turned into an exiting exploration of how much blots, dots and gold leaf snippets could stay upon turning the image into a portrait.
It's a fine line to stay within the recognizable and the abstract.
I also wanted to stay with my usual unusual color choice, keeping the oranges and the reds very prominently in the painting.
The result: an uplifting, big smiling portrait with super interesting abstract details that will make you discover new depths every time you look at it.
This work is framed and goes so very well with another small one: "Little strait Red".
acrylic ink and paint, lightfast markers, gold leaf
