Original artwork description:

British moorland Painting

An atmospheric abstract impressionist British landscape painting inspired by the annual heather burning of the upland grouse moorlands of the British isles particularly the Yorkshire Pennine moors, North York Moors, of Northern England and Angus glens in Scotland, as the dying embers are still alight at the end of the day. Heather burning involves setting controlled fires on moorlands to manage the growth of heather plants. This practice is commonly used on grouse moors in the UK, where heather is a dominant vegetation type. The aim of heather burning is to create a patchwork of different-aged heather stands, which provides ideal habitat for red grouse, a prized game bird.

Painted in an impressionistic style in shades of blue, black, grey and red I have tried to convey the atmosphere of the fires on the moors.

Painted using quality artists paint on a small square format 8" x 8" (20 x 20cm) canvas, with a varnish finish and white wooden frame with cord ready to hang.
Please note the frame may differ slightly to the one shown due to availability.

International deliveries may be subject to local customs duties, these vary from country to country but generally around 5-10% and are payable by the customer.

Materials used:

acrylic on canvas, varnish, and white wood frame
