This painting is an original Pastel painting titled “Glorious”. It is homemade and has an illustrative vibrant realistic style of a beautiful waterlily flower. This pastel painting was created after I took a trip to the Botanical Gardens specifically to capture the waterlilies. I have always been very fascinated with them as a subject matter and their beauty. The vibrancy of color in this photograph and the view of the inside of the lily really had my attention and pulled me in. I like to use very vibrant colors in my art with alot of texture. Each painting takes me many hours from start to finish to execute the level of detail and show the delicate textures in my work. I use soft and hard pastels and pastel pencils on grey Strathmore paper.
