An impressionistic Scottish mountain landscape painting inspired by the wild and rugged scenery of the hills of Glen Rosa on the picturesque isle of Arran, Scotland

Painted in an impressionistic style with an atmospheric and moody grey cloudy sky with warmer colours of muted magenta and ochre colours for the surrounding heather moorland. In this painting I have tried to portray the tranquil atmosphere of the hills and moors of this peaceful glen with a small trickling burn or stream and small waterfalls and the changeable weather conditions.
Painted in a contemporary gestural style with a palette knife and fingers.

Painted using quality artists oils on a small square format 8" x 8" (20 x 20cm) canvas, with a gloss varnish finish and white wooden frame with cord ready to hang.
