Artwork description:

Book lover on a swing. This black and white etching was inspired by a drawing from my Summer 2012 sketchbook. I 'scratched' my design onto a grounded zinc plate which is then etched or 'bitten' when placed in acid. Ink is then applied, worked into the grooves, wiped off and left on in some areas to create subtle tone. This painterly inking process is repeated for every number in the small edition which is then handprinted using a press. Orders are wrapped in acid-free tissue and carefully flat-packed between two layers of cardboard in a stiffened envelope.
