Original artwork description:

379-Gills & Gulls, Oil on Canvas (60cm x73cm)
Sardines and black backed gulls. Life at the ocean surface. Who is on top really and who is shouting about it most? I painted the top part en plein air and the bottom soumarine. Hence the use of oil paint, (and the need for lead boots and a snorkel). People threw hard stale bread at me, but I didn't care, I was at one with the subjects. I had to finish the bottom half relatively quickly as the sea is somewhat cool in April.
