Painted en plein air at Point Lobos near Carmel-by-the-Sea - one of my favorite places to visit and to paint. I often paint by the overlook at Gibson Beach, setting up my easel by a small bridge, just past the China Cove. My inspiration was the way light skimmed the top of tree-lined hills and distant mountings, and danced around the cliffs at the beach, creating beautiful bright sparkles.
