For many years a stronghold of the Macdonalds the castle is now a crumbling ruin.
The castle sits on a rocky promontory guarded on three sides by sheer cliffs. Swathed in myth and legend the castle is said to be haunted by ghosts. One being of a nursemaid who was killed in retribution for dropping the clan chiefs son out of the window (see painting) onto the rocks below.
The painting in done using acrylic paint and layers of glaze to create a dramatic sky.
It is wire strung and ready for framing.
It has also been coated in two coats of protective varnish.
