2020, "Space Geometry" - granite sculpture

This original granite sculpture is one of the latest artworks of the Bulgarian professional sculptor Ognyan Chitakov, deeply inspired by pop art, postmodernism and geometry. It has an authentic natural charm, mixed with the delicate artistic signature and skills. It brings its beautiful craftsman attention to high fashion detail, precision and top quality, all hand carved in two solid granite rocks. The upper part can be turned around by hand in all dirrections.
Granite is a coarse-grained igneous rock with up to 60% quartz by volume. That's why it is massive, hard and tough, and that's why it forms the basement of all land continents on Earth. Its structure carries the formula of the planet, speaks about its ancient history and formation. It keeps the information. As the sea and the water drop are one, the Earth and the granitic rock are one too. And as granite material is uncompromisingly hard, the artist's concept has to be as uncompromisingly clear too. Otherwise granite will always resist to its new form. There has to be a dialog between the artist and the material. This artwork is based on this concept. It is one extraordinary stone masterpiece and valuable modern home decor.
