Artwork description:

After a trip tp the Antarctic, I started work on a suite of prints based on my sketches, paintings and (many!) photographs of the birds, seals, whales and the incredible landscape.

This is a variable edition print of two Gentoo penguins, in the rookery where tensions can run high in the close quarters, as adults defend their nest sites against intruders and pebble thieves.

Some of the prints are a full colour reduction (listed separately) and others are a simpler, more graphic black and white with the distinctive Gentoo beaks hand coloured in watercolour.

relief printing ink, carved linoleum block, printmaking paper
