Original artwork description:
A new painting just finished mid September of one of our own sunflowers. Grown from seed way back in the spring, this one reached almost 7 feet. I had to stand on a stool to cut it. I felt a little sorry to do so but I painted it as well as I could.
The sunflower is a Velvet Queen variety which is a rich rust colour with yellow tips to the petals.
Drawn with charcoal and painted in thick Golden acrylic paint.
