What is this piece about? It is an array of flowers combined with strong black graphic images. The flowers are realistic but not photo realistic and have the strength and texture of impressionistic art. The black leaves graphic in strength and design adds a meaningful contrast with the array of flowers. They are set in a colored background of muted colors so the flowers are the focal point.
The flowers cascade down the canvas from muted colors to vibrant oranges and yellows. The design is created to give a feeling of abundance and joy when interacted by the viewer.
The technique of combining the looseness of acrylic with the hard outlines of the black ink elements is a technique just used only by me in my artistic expression.
