original watercolour painting inspired by New York Central Park
**this is 100% Original, one of a kind artwork and once sold it will no longer be available for purchase**
The beautiful, schist bridge found at 62nd street in Central Park, offering one of the best views of the New York City skyline, is known as the Gapstow Bridge.
Situated at the northeast end of the Pond, this bridge was initially built in 1874 and designed by Jacob Wrey Mould. Mould's design would prove itself unable to stand against the elements, however, and his lovely but delicate wooden bridge with cast iron railings was soon replaced due to wear.
The stone replacement that stands in Central Park today was constructed in 1896, based off of the design by Howard & Caudwell. Covered with leaves and foliage in summer while being dusted with snow in winter, the Gapstow Bridge offers a moment of tranquil beauty in any season.

note about the paper: Khadi Paper has been hand made ethically in India, largely in Nepal and Bhutan. They are made from 100% cotton rag. Genuine rag papers are rare and it is the fibre length of this raw material that gives Khadi rag papers their exceptional strength and durability. The cotton rag they use comes from T-shirt cuttings, a reliable source of pure woven cotton. It has a rough texture and four deckled edges giving it a rustic as well as a handmade feel. No two sheets of this paper are exactly the same. Due to the paper being handmade, You may find some irregularities.
All my artworks are photographed in natural light. I am striving to represent the colours and quality as best as I can. Nevertheless, screens can display colours differently and the actual piece may look slightly different from what you see on your screen.
