Original artwork description:

In some Hindu cultures, Ganesha is considered to be a bachelor. But there are some cultures in which he is a family man where he is depicted as a householder married to Riddhi and Siddhi. One of Ganesha’s names is Ŗiddhisiddhipravardhana "Enhancer of material and spiritual success".

The story goes that Brahma the Creator created two beautiful daughters to be Ganesha’s wives, Riddhi (wealth and prosperity) and Siddhi (intellectual and spiritual powers).

This painting depicts Ganesha with his two wives. Riddhi who represents wealth and prosperity is shown as the one with the pink lotus (just like Lakshmi, goddess of wealth) and a gold bowl of food. Siddhi on the other side symbolizes knowledge and spirituality which is depicted by the white lotus and books.

This painting shows Ganesha as the central entity who balances spiritual and material aspects of life.

This painting is framed...thick, black and sturdy frame :-)
