Painted with extreme loose brushwork and expert swiftness, this portrait of a lady is heavily based on a variety of portraits by the English master Thomas Gainsborough.

The tones and hues are extremely delicate and are best viewed from a distance, up close the brushwork make a chaos that please the eye.

I have also included a picture of the portrait in a unfinished state just to show how a picture can very quickly progress.
