One of my painting as my pseudo : Romain Héjé, when i walk through the garden to the old barn where i paint on sundays when everyone left.
On this frontcover photography from a newspaper for bioproducts the message was easy to catch : we are nothing without earth , earth define us, the force from earth is Gaïa. Beyond the symbol that delivers this beautiful radiant woman' s face surrounded by earthy ground stuff and residue, the artist likes the commitment, the amount of risk taken by the model, the person that let herself being photographed in that manner. Here, there is no photomontage, very little if not any digital means to create the image. It is the plain reality of a woman head being dugged in earth to the very edges of her face's contour. This "realism", this lack of tricks appeal to the artist and drive him to paint according to this fashion, the stones, the teeth, the eyes, the lips corners, each stone and pebble without distinction. Thanks to the art of painting, the created painted image gives the myth of Gaïa a reality that relates to us.
