An acrylic painting on canvas, already professionally framed to a high standard in a unique painted frame.
This painting was inspired by a trip to the beautiful city of Granada in Spain, and the lovely gardens filled with orange blossom there. I was there when a gardener was flooding whole flower beds to soak water deep down into the soil in this very hot climate - something that felt very different to me as someone from a wet, temperate climate. This ignited in me ideas about climate change and the way we will all have to adapt and learn to nurture the living world in the future. This is an expressive painting that merges together my memories of that landscape with my feelings - mostly hopeful ones- about our shared future.
