This original abstract painting is a 2 piece set, sold individually. Both are highly textured mineral paintings, made with Japanese blue-gold leaves, crushed minerals (natural and synthetic), resin on Japanese paper, mounted on a wood panel. Natural colors include green agate. Because these substances consist of unique chemical and physical properties, every artwork has unique characteristics with a sense of connection to the earth. All 4 sides are painted with a 3D-like appearance. It has a matt, sand-like texture for mineral areas and a smooth texture for resin areas.
"Furaha" means joy and happiness in the Swahili language. Inspired by the rich culture and extraordinary land of South Africa, the artist expresses an environment of respect for differences in traditions and values, each existence as an independent entity. These duo pieces are part of the artist's continuous research on the Four Color Theorem or the Four Color Map Theorem of mathematics, which states that no more than four colors are required to color the regions of any map so that no two adjacent regions have the same color.
In mint condition, Certificate of Authenticity included and calligraphy seal in front, hand-signed at the back. Sold unframed and ready to hang (eye bolt and string mounted at the back).
