Original water-colour painting on paper. Street view in Funchal old town, Madeira, Portugal. Funchal is an old town, capital of the beautiful Madeira island. The city itself is nestled in a great natural amphitheatre, facing the blue Atlantic with a backdrop of dramatic mountains. Located in the stunning south of Madeira, on it’s sunniest coast amidst banana plantations and wonderful gardens where flowers bloom all year round in the shelter of the verdant mountains. This town is famous for it's cafes, restaurants and especially Madeira wines. In this painting I made especial attention to Funchal old houses, very vintage, seemed to be build many many years ago, beautifully textured with incredible difference between sun light and the rain.

Materials: watercolours, sepia and inks on water-colour heavy weight 300 gsm fine art paper.
