Original artwork description:

"Frustración" was born as a sketch in June 2024, after I found out that an author and a German publisher plagiarized one of my paintings to use as the cover of her book. It was a situation that filled me with a lot of helplessness, that made me feel very vulnerable because, being so far away, in a country mired in a dictatorship that is incapable of giving me tools to defend myself and my work, what else could I do?

The painting took on another layer of frustration when, after the July 28 elections in Venezuela, in which an overwhelming majority in the country voted for freedom, justice and democracy, we were kidnapped once again by the communist and drug-trafficking regime of Chavismo.

Yes, it frustrates me, but it does not defeat me.

ART SUPPLIES:

I painted this piece with the lightfast premium watercolors Schmincke Horadam, Sennelier and QoR, on acid free, 100% cotton, hot-press 350gr watercolor paper by the brand Leyton. And, at the end, I sprayed this painting with a few layers of Krylon UV resistant coating for its optimal preservation.
