A textural contemporary semi abstract impressionist style painting inspired by the frozen lochs in winter among the moors of the Scottish highlands painted in cool blue colours with a rugged mountain peak and a stormy snow laden atmospheric sky with a hint of pink in the clouds.

In this painting I hope to have captured the atmosphere of the high frozen hill lochs, in the depth of a winter night with approaching snow storms, and the moonlight, experienced on many nights while camping in the heart of the Scottish highlands.

Painted with a palette knife and fingers, using quality artists acrylics on a square format 22 3/4" x 22 3/4" (58 x 58cm) lightly textured canvas on board, framed in a modern contemporary square profile white limewash frame, with cord ready to hang.
