Original artwork description:

Taking a break from my slavish devotion to realism and color and experimenting with a new, stream-of-consciousness graphic style.

Here I started to see a simplified phoenix emerging and began to more deliberately expand on that theme with the feather and flame motif.

The design wraps around the sides adding dimension and surprising new details depending on the angle at which the piece is viewed.

Wired to hang, but can also stand. Looks nice as a single piece, but can also be grouped with similar works.

Materials used:

Ink, primed cradled wood panel
