Artwork description:

Even the smallest seed can grow into something beautiful and special...

To make a linocut, I carve a block or plate of linoleum, the width of the carving, the depth, the direction, all matters for the final result. This also means that linocuts come in the size of the lino plate as there are no digital processes involved, just hand craft.
For each and every print the lino plate has to be rolled up with ink again, all done by hand. Lino reductions means that I start by cutting away the areas that are to stay white, I then take all the pieces of paper through the press with the first color rolled on, next I cut away what I want to stay in that color, and take all 11 prints through the press again rolled up in the second color and so on until I am finished. All the while the prints have to line up every time a new color is applied, reduction is one of my favorite printmaking methods.

I have signed, titled and numbered the print on the front, please note you might not receive the number in the photo. An edition of 11 prints.

"From a small seed..." measures 30 cm x 24 cm (12" x 9.5") in actual printed area and is printed
on a bright white heavy weight piece of gorgeous printmaking paper
that measures 35 cm x 32 cm (14" x 12.5") it fits standard frames.

I ship from my studio in the south of Denmark with many years experience in packing my art so it arrives safely (see my over 900 reviews).

Thanks for looking,
Mariann
