Inspired by Frida Kahlo and her incredible art and life story.
The illustration is painted digitally with a Wacom tablet using Photoshop. The original concept was first drawn by pen, then scanned and painted with a graphic tablet.
I wanted to present her out of her classical pose and context in general. Even "the lover" Diego changed his role, instead of him being in power in my vision she was the one who had the real internal vision and strength! This illustration is a celebration of "girl power" and the celebration of female vision, strength, and self-love!
