Many artists have portrayed Frida, that character in art who moves us not only because of her painting but also because of all the circumstances she had to go through in her life. My work "Frida" shows her hopeful, looking to the future, almost smiling, without showing her pain or anguish, surrounded by color. Colors of her country, and of her image, full of life, even when sadness is perceived in her paintings. The whole work is made with spatulas, including the face, which gives it textures and reliefs and a certain abstraction in the work as a whole. I love this painting which reflects the struggle of a woman in art.
