Symbolist acrylic painting in Asian sumi-e ink technique. On this piece I have painted a beautiful Scandinavian Nordic goddess Freya. Freya (Old Norse Freyja, “Lady”) is one of the preeminent goddesses in Norse mythology. Freya is famous for her fondness of love, fertility, beauty, and fine material possessions – and, because of these predilections, she’s considered to be something of the “party girl”. The type on the shoulder is the name Freya in runnes. This painting is belonging to the serie of works with interpretations of images from North miphology in the modernist symbolism painting manner.
