Original artwork description:

Frank Clement in a Bentley at Ramsey Hairpin, he finished second in the 1922 TT race. The photograph on which this painting is based may have been taken in one of the practise sessions as the actual race took place in heavy rain and it is unlikely that there would have been a dust cloud following the car. The more relaxed attitude to safety in 1922 can be seen from the position of the spectators on the racetrack.

The Painting is based on an image in the book TT Pioneers by Robert Kelly with the kind permission of the publishers "The Manx Experience"
