This painting is the portrait of one of my models, Francesca, which posed for me on an evening session. I painted the portrait on wood to make it look as lucid as possible. The background is painted in indigo blue to make the figure of Francesca stand out. The shiny red hair and the gestural painting technique give to the artwork a raw and powerful touch.
