The starting point for a picture is usually making a mark on a surface and ending with a frame. Artists often ignore frames leaving it to the buyer to choose themselves and yet a frame can make or break a good image. It is hard to tell from this photo but the artwork is in a black frame. What happened is, instead of starting with making a mark on a surface, I started with a black frame and created an image to suit the frame. Having had an interest over the past year of how to make the edges of a picture more creative and to get away from the usual rectangle but always ending up with a rectangle when the picture is framed. It could be said that this artwork has camouflaged the frame, making the frame part of the image. FRAMED IS THE TITLE THE DRAWING IS FOR SALE UNFRAMED.
