These series of collages explore the re-use of images created during sketching, preproduction drawings and explorative exercises.
The images are placed in the recycle bag with the rest of collected materials (papers, envelopes and scraps), ready to be mined and re-used in the construction of new images exploring Dadist approaches to placing images, colours, patterns and text together, forming new imagery responding to unconscious placements via reducing the conscious decision making processes of placing forms in particular orders.
Forms and rhythms are layered until there appears a particular rhyme or poetical composition, which sings its song, at which point I stop adding and place the complete image to one side.
These fragments explore unconsious choices of form, colours, resonances, creating compositions to unknown appetites playing within our mindspace, playng their part in our decision making process, exploring the illusion of freewill.
These images are then lacquered and placed within a mount frame, backing board and polybagged.
Various collected images, text, patterns on paper.
