Fragile (II) is the second in a series looking at the fragility of the human condition. This piece questions the affect of trying to protect someone/groups of people. The figure is restricted and contorted by his label of a fragile person/identity. In todays society liberalism seems to changing form, the freedom to express yourself is being restricted by the right not to be offended. This idea of trying to protect people is now stopping open discussion and debate without which no progress can be made. This leads to isolation of person and ideas. the figures eyes are closed, his arms crossed. body bent forward he is becoming physically and mentally inverted. The figure is surrounded by a black barrier which lights try to penetrate but only fall into more darkness.
