ARTWORK CURRENTLY EXHIBITING IN NEW MILL ART TRAIL FROM THE 9TH - 25TH SEPTEMBER. IF PURCHASED I'LL POST STRAIGHT AFTER THE THE SHOW IT TAKEN DOWN.

While I was living in Bristol I had a family of foxes that sunbathed on the lawn at the back of the house. I sketched and photographed them over several months. It proved quite a challenge as I was desperately to imbue them with the warmth of the summer sun.
I painted these as a triptych as I wanted to capture the the movements as well as the relationships of the fox cubs. I loved the way that the two brothers on either side constantly seemed to be copying each other while the one in the middle remained obliviously asleep through out. The sun changes between the paintings, the wind blowing the grass and moving the shadows ever so slightly. They are paintings, that I hope, will keep a little bit of summer in the house through the dark winter months.
