I wanted to concentrate on the warmth and vibrancy of the fox, having it stand like a flame in the center of the canvas. This is a painting I thought I'd finished last year but the stark white background was drowning the fox so I went back in and developed it. I added texture to the fur and created a darker landscape behind him so the fox stands out proud and warm. This work was created partly with a paintbrush and partly with a ballet knife, the mark making in the tail textured and rough.
Painting is framed professionally in a solid dark grey wooden frame. It is framed without glass - which allows the oil paints to breathe and stay healthy. Also available in a more traditional golden embossed floral frame, just pop into. my store and find the listing. If you wished to frame it yourself just send me a note and I'll deduct the frame from the price.
