The city of light and what once was the Roman capital of France, Lyon. This slice of the imposing Notre Dames de Fourvière cathedral, that sits surveying Lyon from the side of a hill, is an example of the beautiful passages of light the city has to offer.
I walk around Lyon often, on the days when my head is less abuzz with the trivialities of life, I look up and I am never disappointed. There is something everywhere, little sculptures, beautiful doors, hidden traboules. These paintings of Lyon are little tributes to my adopted city.
Using abstracted colour in the form of sharp lines, the colour palette of the piece is laid bare for the viewer.
Framed in a handmade pine floater frame.
hardboard, acrylic paint
