This is a typical marriage function happening in rural India. I also belong to rural India and spent majority of my life's time seeing such incidences in surroundings and this is the main reason that this artwork is very special to me. In this painting, "Four Friends" are performing in one of the marriage functions of a typical family. They are happy and sad as well. They are happy because one of their friends is getting married and are sad at the same time because she will leave them behind and will go to some other place where they will not meet her again. And, this is the typical social system for a girl that she grows up and gets married, that's it. This is the life for a girl.
