Fortunities was actually a word used in the 15th century. Taking as much of a liberty with language as I do with canvas, it fits. The open rural vista in Fortunities is embraced by it’s own energy of renewal; that which you'd feel when you’ve been kissed by fresh air, light and wide open spaces. To me, this piece expresses that brightness as it morphs into lightness of heart and an unburdening of load. It’s an opportunity to bask in the promise of a new day. Fortune and opportunity are offered many times over to s/he who chooses to dive into the possibilities of a clear mind in limitless space. Fortune + opportunities = Fortunities, yet once again since c.1470 per the Oxford English Dictionary, full version only.

Fortunities arrives prewired and ready to hang. The deep 1-1/2" museum mount edges of this canvas are painted as 3D extensions of the main image.
