Fortune's Tide

Edition of 10 only at this size.

On the beach near my home on the Isle of Skye there are dinosaur footprints, it is a place of endless wonder. Along the shore are enormous rocks that have been there for thousands of years, who knows what they have witnessed, who knows what the endless tides of fortune have brought to the people who lived there.

There is a tide in the affairs of men.
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat,
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.
Julius Caesar Act 4, Scene 3 - William Shakespeare

This beautiful extra large Limited Edition print it one of only 10 available. It comes signed, numbered and titled at the bottom. I use wonderful Canson Aquarelle 300gsm paper which has the most fabulous watercolour texture and holds colour for a lifetime. Canson have been making paper for over 450 years and their paper was used by Picasso, Ingres, Miro and Warhol to name but a few. The inks I use are state-of-the-art non fade Epson Ultrachrome K3 with Vivid Magenta.

I photograph and print every image, I do not outsource any part of my workflow. Each canvas has been painstakingly crafted to ensure the true colours, resolution and texture are exactly as they should be.
