'Formations 3' is a mixed-media work inspired by my interest in experimenting with different materials to create forms and designs. The idea is to give the viewer a deeper experience through the various intricacies achieved when using a variety of materials and finishes.
This relief is truly a one-of-a-kind statement piece! It can work in a variety of interiors. Please see the extensive detail of the formations in the attached images.
This work has been created using crafted forms of aluminum foil together with Gesso and stainless steel wire screening to slowly build up solid (firm) layers of intrigue. Once dry, the work has been painted in layers of gold, burnt umber, red oxide, and warm white mixed with gold to accentuate areas of interest. The final result is a bronze and taupe grey finish with areas of gold and red oxide peeking through the formations to accentuate the work's three-dimensional nature. The depth of the artwork is 2 inches (0.8 inches stretched canvas + 1.2 inches at the highest part of the mixed media formation)
This work is ready to hang with a wire attached and is signed on the bottom edge. It works beautifully on a light or a dark wall. The patina finish continues to include the sides of the work so that no framing is required. It will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Please Note:
- The in situ images are for display purposes only to show the work in different interiors and/or with suggested frames if desired. Please refer to the exact size of the work provided in the description.
Thank you for your interest in my work!
