'Formations II is a mixed-media work inspired by Joyce's interest in experimenting with different materials to create forms and designs. The idea is to give the viewer a deeper experience through the various intricacies achieved when using a variety of materials and finishes.

This work has been created using crafted forms of aluminum together with Gesso and steel wire to slowly build up solid (firm) layers of intrigue. Once dry, the work has been painted in layers of gold, red oxide, and warm white mixed with grey to accentuate areas of interest. The final result is a light cool grey finish with areas of gold and red oxide peeking through the formations to accentuate the work's three-dimensional nature. The depth of the artwork is 2.5 inches (1-inch wood panel + 1.5 inch at the thickest part of the mixed media formation)

This work is ready to hang with a wire attached and is signed on the bottom edge. It works beautifully on a light or a dark wall. It will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
